What is VPS, VDS or Virtual Server?
VPS (Virtual Private Server) or VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server) is a service in which the user is provided with a so-called Virtual Dedicated Server.
A Virtual Dedicated Server emulates the operation of a separate physical server (virtual machine technologies are usually used for emulation). On one physical server, as a rule, there are several virtual servers that share its resources among themselves.
In terms of remote management with VPS work just like with a physical server. In particular: you can use root-access, own IP-addresses, ports, work with files, install any applications and perform any other tasks possible on a separate physical machine.
VPS on Windows Server is designed for projects that use the development of the Microsoft corporation: ASP.NET, Classic ASP, MSSQL, MS Access, Silverlight and others.
